I've been asked why we do not allow GMail accounts for registration and I have always replied that we felt that there were a large number of SPAMmers using GMail accounts attempting to register and post on the site. The following data, obtained from the StopFoumSPAM
MOD I wrote and installed here, bears that out.
372 Automatic gmail.com exceptions indentified by StopForumSPAM.com. 46 Rejected Email exceptions that were not identified by StopForumSPAM.com (of which 16 were 3 users trying to use gmail accounts to register multiple times) ...
